Braemar Mountain Rescue Team

Braemar Mountain Rescue team is registered charity helping provide rescue services in the Southern Cairngorms and Grampian area. Braemar Mountain Rescue Association was formed in 1965 by a group of local people who were concerned about the increasing number of mountain accidents and the resultant hardship and risk to local residents, who, often with no mountaineering experience or proper clothing, were called upon to rescue others and all too often to carry home the bodies of those for whom rescue had come too late.

Braemar Mountain Rescue Team operates from two bases in the Cairngorm National Park. The team headquarters is in Braemar and we also have a subsidiary base in Ballater
