The thing is, once you get into medicine, get past the whole personal statement malarky sometimes it easy to forget that there are some things about medicine, that medical school simply won't prepare you for. To be a medic you need skills like leadership, courage, communication and resilience. Things that come from insight, experience and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone with opportunities well beyond the library doors.
