Mountaineering in Kyrgyzstan
Alex Reid gave a great talk today on his summertime adventures and expeditioning in general. He began by explaining how he started, hillwalking in Scotland while at University and how this was followed by trips all over the worl culminating in this summers ascents in Kyrgysztan in an unexplored area. Kygyztsan in a strange mix of mediterranian and soviet cultures, with old societ architecture in the towns yet farming people living in yurts.
